The 20,000th tenge banknote was recognized as the best at the international banknote competition

The "Best Banknote" award is given for outstanding achievements in the field of design, high-tech security levels of a banknote or series of banknotes. Particular attention is also paid to the belonging of the banknote to the country in which it is issued, its cultural heritage, symbols, which reflect the design of the banknote as a whole. The banknote with a face value of 20,000 tenge has been put into circulation since December 1, 2015. The banknote is made in the predominant gray-blue color. On the front side are the main images - the monument "Kazakh Eli", a winged horse and the triumphal arch Mangilik El. On the reverse side, the main image in the center of the banknote is the contour of the map of Kazakhstan and the panorama Astana with the buildings of Akorda, Parliament and the Government, located in a manner that reflects the principle of separation of the branches of power, laid down in the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The new banknote is the most secure banknote of the Kazakh tenge, as well as one of the most secure banknotes in the world. For protection, the latest innovations in the anti-counterfeiting industry are used, modified and strengthened by the classic methods of countering counterfeiting. For visually impaired people, seven high-relief triangles are marked on the edge on the right side of the banknote, distinguishable by touch.
